How do I download

and install screen savers?

These instructions are for windows 95, 98, NT or 2000

Please take no offense if this is written to be to simple for you!  I am only trying to help people

understand the procedure for installing a Screen Saver.  I have no way of knowing  your skill level.

#1   Thing to remember when downloading any file.
Where am I putting this file?
Always pay attention. Look where you're downloading a file on your computer!  In fact, it's a good idea to have a special folder that you always save anything you download into, such as C:\downloads. You can carry that a step further and have sub-directories in your download folder such as, C:\downloads\screensavers\.

#2   Thing to remember
Please take the time to read the windows.
While you are going through the install screens,  take a moment to look at what's going on.  Read what it says --- it could help

If you downloaded a setup file (.exe).   Once downloaded, double clicking the file will activate it and it will install the screen saver for you.  When going through the install procedure, let it install into your windows folder, or into your system32 folder which is inside of your windows folder.  It may show up something like C:\windows or C:\WINNT or C:\ME or C:\2000 depending on which Operating system you have..   Most of the time it is C:\windows

NOTE: Make sure all files you download onto your computer are scanned for Viruses.  If you have Norton Antivirus or McAfee on your computer make sure they are defaulted to check all download files for viruses.

All files on PlanetDenn have been pre-checked for
viruses with the latest updates from Norton Antivirus

How do I make my screen saver work
after I've installed it?

Once it has finished installing you get it to work/play by doing the following:

The Picture to the left represents your Desktop.  This is the screen that you come to after booting up (starting up your computer).

#1 - Go to your desktop and right click your mouse. (the button on the right, not the left of the mouse.)

NOTICEDo not place the arrow on top of an icon. Place it anywhere on the desktop except where an icon is located..

When you do that a new menu will appear on your screen.  It will look something like the picture to the right. Place your arrow on top of Properties and click your LEFT mouse button.
You will then
come to your
"Display Properties"
window.

Now Click on the tab at the top of this window that says Screen Saver

PLEASE NOTICE: It could
take several seconds, sometimes up to a minute on some computers to actually change to the Screen Saver window once you have clicked on the Screen Saver tab.  Once it changes it will look like the screen below..

You're finally here!  This is the window that you will come to anytime you want to change or manage your Screen Saver.  Just click in the drop down list under the words "Screen Saver" and it will open up showing all of your Screen Savers.  Just pick the one you want to use. Some Screen Savers have no settings. Click on Preview and it will show you the screen saver.
Remember: Just as always, if you move your mouse the preview will stop.  Move your hand away from the mouse after clicking Preview.  Sometimes it may take a few seconds or a minute to start some Screen Savers.  Please give it a little time.!

Remember:  To have your screen savers placed into your Screen Saver drop down list, you must place your screen savers in your windows folder or your system32 folder which is located inside of your windows folder.

Once you have picked the screen saver that you want to use, and picked the time for it to display (after no mouse or keyboard activity) click on the APPLY  button and then the OK button.  Please remember that we've tried to make a Screen Saver that you will enjoy.  If your computer is an older computer or if it does not have much ram (memory), it will not perform as well for you.   In either case we hope that you enjoy your Screen Saver!!!
